I wake up, stare at my reflection,
But there’s no spark, just disconnection.
I used to know the face I’d see,
Now it’s a stranger staring back at me.
It’s funny how you drift away,
From who you were to who you play.
I try to find myself in the mess,
But all I feel is emptiness.
I ask the mirror, “Who are you?”
But silence is the answer, too.
The lines are blurred, the edges frayed,
I’m lost inside the life I’ve made.
I used to dream in colors bright,
Now every shade is fading light.
I walk in circles, try to find,
Some piece of me I left behind.
But every step feels out of place,
Like I’m chasing someone else’s trace.
I don’t know how I got this far,
Or why I can’t remember who we are.
It’s like the road just split in two,
And I don’t know which path leads to who.
I thought I’d know myself by now,
But I’m just guessing, anyhow.
The person I was, where did they go?
Did they just fade? I’ll never know.
I keep on searching, but it’s in vain,
I’m always left with just the pain.
I wear a face that doesn’t fit,
Pretending like I’m fine with it.
But deep inside, there’s something wrong,
A quiet voice that’s been too long gone.
I wonder if I’ll ever find,
The part of me I left behind.
