The Part I Never Said

You asked if I was doing well

I smiled and said that I was fine

Not every truth comes out at once

Some need a slower kind of time

There were words behind my teeth

Whole stories left untouched and still

Moments where I almost spoke

Then folded silence by my will

People think healing looks so clear

Like one good day and all is gone

They never see the quiet work

Of choosing to keep moving on

Now if I speak, I speak with care

Not every heart deserves the key

Some things I lost made room instead

For more of what belongs to me
