“The Pandemic”
Brought into our community,
By those that control without thought,
Changing our day,
We walk.
A Challenge to be meet,
A goal we keep.
Fighting to stay safe,
A dream to leave,
Winning none,
We try to keep the peace,
We continue to smile.
Feeling like a diseased leopard,
We seek help to control what’s out of control,
Accepting the challenge laid at our feet.
We fight, some winning,
Others losing,
Each counting the days.
As we continue to weep,
At the losses.
Winning the challenge,
We fight to make right.
Brought into our community,
We heal and fight what’s laid at our feet.
