The Pain Within

A Whispered Ache

You touched his hand, it cut me deep,

A wound so cruel, I couldn't keep.

You brushed his hair, right in my view,

Yet all along, my heart was with you.

Why didn't you touch me? Why didn't you see?

Every touch you gave, meant the world to me.

I'm lost in shadows of what could have been,

Why did you touch him? It's a pain within.

Your true feelings, I'm left to guess,

Was it a game, this heart's cruel chess?

Did you touch him to make me bleed?

Or was his touch all you'd need?

Why didn't you touch me? Why didn't you see?

Every touch you gave, meant the world to me.

I'm lost in shadows of what could have been,

Why did you touch him? It's a pain within.

I wanted your attention, your touch so true,

But now I'm left with memories of you.

Why did you touch him? It's a question I ask,

As I'm left alone with this emotional task.

Why didn't you touch me? Why didn't you see?

Every touch you gave, meant the world to me.

I'm lost in shadows of what could have been,

Why did you touch him? It's a pain within.

Why did you touch him? It still haunts me,

Why did you touch him? It's a pain within.
