The Oreo AKA The Coconut
Black on the outside and white on the inside
Tastes Better in milk
But it wouldn't be better in white
Even when dipped in milk
You can still see it’s black
But no one cares
It's the white cream in the middle
They eat up after pulling the black biscuits apart
The Oreo
Confused whether black or white
It looks Black but can't be black because of its inside
Can't be white because it’s clear to see it’s black
Maybe if I’m in the milk long enough
I’ll Be white, the Oreo thinks
But Instead the poor confused Oreo
breaks and watches the other side of herself sink deep into the milk
Now they are missing parts of themselves
Maybe if I change up my inside
The oreo thought once again
Toffee, caramel, Brownie, chocolate hazelnut
Anything close to black
Until she finally found the flavour
Dark chocolate as dark as her outside
But just when she thought she was whole
She started being fascinated by other flavours, curious of them
Mint, Lemon and you guessed it
Birthday cake flavour
White with little sprinkles of no identity
But is it really no identity or just exposure to so many?
I guess it's a question only she can answer.
And an answer she has to come to terms with
But I hope she knows
That the black outside and the “different” inside are what make her Iconic
Iconically misunderstood sometimes
but still iconic regardless
