The Orchard Where Hearts Broke

They could have been mended

The Orchard Where Hearts Broke

We met in shade

Fruit hanging low

Your smile warm

My heart open

Joy circled us

Light on the path

Steps soft and sure

Air sweet around

Hate came quick

A sharp cold word

Leaves shook hard

Hearts pulled back

Misery followed

Rain fell fast

We stood apart

Lost in doubt

Calm drifted in

Your hand reached out

Warmth returned slow

Storm slid away

Joy rose again

Small and clear

The orchard breathed

Our hearts eased

Love grew strong

Roots held deep

Eyes saw truth

Voices stayed calm

We walk that place

Fruit bright above

Stories in shade

Hearts whole again
