One year, his heart turned into gears with fine toothed cogs that crunched and twisted.

The next year, his mind became metal springs that were tightly wound up with angst.

The next year, his arms turned to coils of wires.

The next year, his eyes turned into steel orbs that seemed altogether void.

The man had turned into a…

Everyone around him liked him better that way though.

They were comfortable with his automated messages and automated emotions, that were perfectly predictable and never inconvenient.
