A flutter in the heart, a twist that's bittersweet,
Not quite joy, not quite sorrow, a feeling incomplete.
It lingers in the space between a smile and sigh,
A silent yearning, a teardrop in the eye.
It's the echo of a dream, a path not dared to tread,
The longing for a word unsaid, a wish left in its stead.
A melody half-played, a story left untold,
A bittersweet contentment, a future yet to unfold.
It's the warmth of summer sun on skin that's turning cold,
The beauty of a rose before its petals start to fold.
The last glimpse of twilight as darkness takes its hold,
A bittersweet acceptance, a story to be told.
This nameless ache, a whisper in the soul,
A reminder that life's journey takes its toll.
But within its depths, a quiet strength resides,
A resilience that accepts, and gracefully confides.

Nice poem and I really liked the first two lines (not more than the rest, they just pulled me in).
