The morning of yesterday

I've longed to be in your arms.

The morning of yesterday
Photo by John-Mark Smith on Unsplash

The sun rays spill forth

Trickling down the windowpane

As dawn breaks through the horizon

Illuminating your slumbered face

As you lay beside me

Peaceful yet daunting

You feel so far away

As you're drifting in and out

You rest your weary head upon my chest,

I kiss your tired eyes

Oh how I wish to go back

To the morning of yesterday

Held within the embrace of your warm, loving arms.

Oh how I wish to eternally bask in your light

As you pour your love over me

Spill unto me the beams of eternal bliss,

As I wait for you.
