darkness, night sky

glittering with stars and streetlights

the moon peeks from behind

her blanket of clouds

she flirts with me

a glimpse here, a peek there

and yet ~ she is everywhere

in my bones and in my blood

I wait for her to reveal herself

my toes wiggle in the gentle grass

~ I stir my tea ~ I sip my tea ~

and watch as her magic charges

I whisper her my secrets

and she tells me her tales

the night grows cold, but still ~

we are just two girls, together
