The Mess Inside

A Poem

The darkness he brings

is only sickness

or could it be eternal bliss

I'm trapped in this internal mess

I don't know if I need to get out of this

Is this reality's test?

A foreign quest

To find out like the rest?

The truth among reality

Not just insanity

I need all this longing

to feel worth something

This can't be just vanity

The illness questions chemistry

While I run from everything

That could be good for me

Or is this protecting

A heart that needs defending

Oh, man I need this to be a good ending

not another breaking

My heart could never stand the quaking

of the truth this mess will bring

It could utterly destroy my living

and anything left for giving.
