"Innamorato della Luna" (In Love with the Moon) Antonio Rubino, 1907

Introduction

This is my first attempt at an endecha, I think, though I may be wrong

I just saw this beauty on The Enchanted Booklet page on Facebook here:

I thought I would write a story, then changed my mind and decided a poem would be better.

The music is "Mad Man Moon" by Genesis a beautiful song which, I think, works for this work.

When They Saw The Moon's Sad Face

Reflected In The Water

They Pulled Out The Fishbone Harp

And Filled The Night With A Serenade For Her

The Frog Plucked The Silver Strings

And The Moon's Frown Disappeared

They Sang Their Song Full Of Joy

And On The Face Of The Moon A Smile Appeared

Where Unhappiness Once Was

There Is Now Music And Smiles

Selene Is Happy Once More

Shining Her Moonlight On The Sea And The Isles
