The Match and The Flame

A poem

By Smaranda DomosaruPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The life of a match

Renders useless

If it never dares

To spark a flame

The life of a flame

Unattended

Devours the match

And all that's around it

Some resent the match

For they hate to be contained

Others fear the flame

Afraid of inferno if set ablaze

But worst is

Scorched by nothingness

In a frozen abyss

Where the match refused the flame

And the flame was never lit

So instead

Let the match dance with the flame

And when all is extinguished

The story of your life will

Remain
