The Lonely Dog
Remember if you work long hours the dog who waits

The Lonely Dog
In the quiet of the morning, as the car pulls away,
He watches from the window, his world turned to gray.
Eyes full of longing, a soft whimper escapes,
In the stillness of the house, loneliness takes shape.
The hours stretch onward, shadows shift and grow,
No footsteps on the threshold, no voice to bestow.
The ball lies untouched, the leash gathers dust,
In his heart, a yearning, in his eyes, a trust.
He dreams of laughter, of walks under trees,
Of chasing the breeze through the autumn leaves.
But silence answers, and the clock ticks on,
A faithful heart waits, though the day feels long.
When at last the door opens, his joy overflows,
A wagging tail speaks the love he bestows.
No anger, no blame, just boundless delight,
For in their return, his world feels right.
Oh, to be cherished through each passing day,
For a dog’s heart is golden, come what may.
Let us not forget the love they impart,
A loyal companion, with a pure, open heart.
