The Loneliness of a Broken Heart

When Love Leaves You Alone

Alone in my bed, I lay,

With thoughts that won't go away,

Memories of you, they haunt,

As I try to move on and be nonchalant.

But how can I forget,

The love that we once had,

The laughter, the joy, the tears we shed,

Now all that remains is feeling sad.

The nights are so long,

I toss and turn in despair,

The silence is so strong,

Without you here, it's too much to bear.

I try to fill the void,

With friends and family near,

But nothing can replace,

The love that we held so dear.

So here I am, all alone,

With a heart that's shattered and torn,

Wondering if I'll ever find,

The love that I had before.

But until then, I'll stay strong,

And hold on to the memories we made,

Until my heart can once again belong,

To someone who won't let it fade.
