The way the sun rises in the morning
The way it sets at night

Yet familiar with their hues and romantic Appeal
The smothering smell of coffee at your favorite cafe
And the recognition of each new season by the smell that inhabits the air
Beautiful music created by souls filled with passion,
Seemingly able to make whole any circumstance
These “little things”… the bearers of such joy
“Little” seems to be an unfair moniker
Something with such cherishable ability considered so insignificant
What causes this misconception?
Through no eye is the world viewed the same
High value is determined by the majority
Yet, freedom grants personal preference
What makes a thing cherishable is based upon this freedom
Therefore, can anything truly be deemed “little?”
With this in mind, a new title is brought forth
They shall be known as, not just the “little” things, but as the little “big” things

An Abyss of White
I walk outside, close the door behind me, step off of the front porch, and stand on top of the soft ground beneath my snowshoes. It is cold, but I am warm from the soft, thick layers of my pajamas - my bottoms tucked into my boots. I tighten the tie from my robe around my waist then look up at the landscape surrounding me.

Pints & Parkruns: Jubilee, Spennymoor
If MC Escher created a parkrun, it might look a bit like Jubilee. Based in a compact – but surprisingly lovely – park in the small County Durham town of Spennymoor, it twists and turns its way up repeated hills. Although basic physics says it must come down again, somehow this route never feels like it gives runners a proper descent.
