The Lioness and the Wizard
And the Chemist and the Magic Spell
So fierce and lovely
Her hair was tan
Like a lion's mane
It seemed to flow
In some unseen gust of wind
Tall and thin
Like a gazelle
With amber eyes
That seemed to glow
Far prettier than me
I wanted to hate her
I wanted to be jealous
Of her ethereal looks
I failed
She was like some Earth Goddess
Mother Nature personified
She charmed me
She seemed to float
In skirts that rivaled
Princesses of Bohemia
Always smiling and kind
And soft
Like freshly turned soil
My earthy friend
I could not veil
My transparent admiration
The Wizard
He was eccentric
Like a mad scientist
He smiled easily
He laughed often
His brownish hair was
An explosive tussle
Impossible to tame
On stormy days
It seemed to fizzle
With energy
His teeth were like
Broken piano keys
Crooked and disarrayed
In his grinning mouth
His eyes were crazed
They sparkled with a mischief
Which appeared too
In the upturned corner
Of his smirking mouth
Silent smokes
Under starry skies
Formed a quiet kinship
A camaraderie
He became like my brother
The Chemist
I saw the glances
I saw the looks
I saw the air ripple around them
Whenever their paths crossed
I saw their auras light up
With some secret energy
Some unnamed force
But the bold, fierce lioness
And the mighty, magical wizard
Weren't brave
Months passed
In this charging atmosphere
And not a word was ever uttered
But I saw the chemistry
And I was the chemist
I resolved
To put them together
And one day I smiled a knowing smile
At the wizard
"You like her, don't you?"
I asked him simply
His face cracked into such a bright smile
Broader and brighter
Than his usual easy grin
It revealed his crooked teeth
Only adding
To that crazed expression
I had my answer
And passing by this regal lioness
I gave this information
To her
Her cheeks turned pink
Her amber eyes sparkled
Like a schoolgirl again
She giggled
Was this the magic of the chemist?
I smiled
Wondering what further magic
I could concoct
To make this fairytale come true
"Give the lioness a gift."
I coaxed the wizard
Then I watched from afar
Barely containing my delight
As he presented her with daisies
The Magic Spell
A stormy day today
And I can't find the lioness
And I can't find the wizard
I search for them as the thunder roars
The storm finally gathered
From the charging atmosphere
Outside in the deluge
Beneath a dripping willow tree
And the daisies I just planted
The wizard kisses the lioness
I smile
My magic is complete

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
