The light of my life

I think of you when I look at the stars.
I would immediately surrender my heart to you,
and you are like a book with countless pages,
still new and unread.

Many have tried to read you,
why did they try and now they wonder.
They didn't understand what was written on the first page,
read on, your heart defends.

My urges to win you were strong,
against them, all others were false.
Others, with unscratched hearts, pulled out their own,
torn into thousands of pieces mine.

Only you have the cure for my wounds,
turn me the other way, my light!
