If June fell like the leaves in September

And love lost the journey before the storm

Summer would slip into the arms of winter

~

Moonlight glowing among the stars, would falter

Love would be as naked as the trees

If June fell like the leaves in September

~

Spring flowers would bloom, only to wither

First kisses would be forgotten with goodbyes

Summer would slip into the arms of winter

~

Sunlight glowing among the clouds, would quiver

Love would be as frozen as the streams

If June fell like the leaves in September

~

Lightning bugs would shine, only to disappear

First glances would be forgotten with farewells

Summer would slip into the arms of winter

~

Sunlit colors would turn cold with December

Stories of love would vanish with July and August

If June fell like the leaves in September

Summer would slip into the arms of winter
