the last soldier

he who hated slavery

he came out in the rain

and lost

his homeland remained in chains

only he knew

that rain

was the last rain of slavery

after the clouds cleared

his land will be illuminated by the sun of freedom

after him

his enslaved people

Never missed him

they didn't know in fact

that someone was going to set them free

they had become so accustomed to slavery

that to them taking away slavery

was a matter of taking away life from them

he who gone

was the last soldier of his land

whose soul was free

that could feel and hate the chains on his body.
