The lady on the sidewalk

The sweet spring air fills with your perfume

The sun smiles and the wind whistles as your petals bloom

I am mesmerized by your colors-

• the blues,
• the reds,
• the violets-

harmonize into the setting sun

The moon watches over you as your long green stem,

and your lusty leaves,

and your tender thorns

dance in its light-

like a ballerina-

or the shiny sword of a knight-

I am learning peace as I see you growing into a garden

You are the SUN

Your strength shines down on me

and I finally have the power to gather my seeds...
