The Lady in Scarlet
She wears the colour of fresh wounds,
A silent fire no rain can tame.
The crimson bird still gu her heart,
Though no one whispers her true name.
She learned that love could leave a mark,
A deeper cut than any blade.
Each promise drifted into dust,
Each vow dissolved, each dream betrayed.
The mirror holds a stranger now,
Soft beauty wrapped in hidden pain.
Her smile survives for passing eyes,
Her soul still walks beneath the rain.
The scarlet wings refuse to fade,
They beat against forgotten years.
Each feather carries memories,
Still heavy with unshed tears.
She waits where fading daylight ends,
Where silence gathers like a shroud.
No footsteps break the empty air,
No voices rise above the cloud.
The bird will fly when dawn appears,
She may remain where shadows start.
Some cages never need their bars,
When sorrow builds them in the heart.
