The Key?

Hope

hope held the key, to the love i held on to

like a kite that just hung, in the sky

fear took the wind, from my wing, in the blue

I saw it grin, as it let me pass by

*

it had no care for my fate, as i fell to the dirt

it was glad to see love take the fall

i don't know why fear just won't heal the hurt

and let me get on with what is left of it all

*

a life full of love sets the pace for your gate

when you lose it, well, it’s just not the same

but i am able to make the best of my fate

beat the odds in life, and take the game

    Amazing!

  • Such a positive and powerful poem! Excellent work!

  • To find love's breath, feel the wind beneath your wings, to find love's gait, only to lose it.... To get back up & finish the race/game, is incredibly heroic. And you've said it incredibly well here, Kelli.
