The Hunter in the tree

Longs to be free

But on the prowl

Is a creature with a low growl

He laments his situation

Hoping he doesn’t succumb to starvation

Adorning a finger on his right hand

Is a simple gold-and-silver band

A family whose survival

Depends on his timely arrival

How will things play?

Will he find his way?

He takes a chance

But the creature is ready to dance

With a bounding leap

The Hunter lands in a heap

He scrambles quickly upright

Readying for a fight

Scrambling for defense

The Hunter’s battle is tense

There can only be one winner

The other becoming dinner

The battle is fought

The Hunter using everything taught

The creature uses a claw to slash

The Hunter a fist to bash

The creature roars in pain

The Hunter having slashed a vein

The hidden knife

Saving his life

The Hunter in the tree

Finally free

Returns triumphantly

To the home of his family

For Fun
