The hunter among the wheat and barley.

It began as such days had for many years prior.

The sound of the songbirds rushing about,

In constant melodies and harmonies,

Singing to their hearts desire.

The sun had just begun to spring,

While the droplets of dew trickled down from the leaves,

The lilies had barely begun to bloom,

With the sound of bees fluttering about the flowers,

Drinking from the abundance of honey.

The townsfolk had barely awoken and yet,

Off they were, at it again working a storm!

Yet, a darkness had begun to creep in the fields,

A shadow among the wheat and barley,

Lurking among the stalks of rye.

It waited, patiently, until the precise moment...
