A letter to Earth…

Dear Earth…

I wrote a letter for you, that I’m refusing to share

I mentioned animals, plants, people, and the air

It often asked for forgiveness, after doing my part

After all my wrongdoings, after breaking your heart

I began to place blame, and call out who did the most

I made a list of corporations, people who violently spoke

It became less about the Earth, and about helping me cope

So, as my tears soaked my paper, I destroyed what I wrote

Now, here is the new one, and let me begin

By confessing my fascination with the elegance of the wind

How thankful I am, for you protecting my loves

And I’m impressed by how your body miraculously recovers how it does

I’m grateful for all of the creatures here, that still survive

I praise you for bringing new life to the things that have died

Can I ask, is rain tears from angels, that are no longer alive?

But, not of pain, tears of beauty, cause we try hard to thrive?

Well, I hope you read my letter, and heal from all that we’ve ruined

With love, from all your fans

Sincerely, The Humans
