The Holidays Come Around Too Fast Each Year
And the older you get the faster they get!
Thanksgiving was just here
It is almost Christmas, oh Dear
Then it will be the New Year
We fit in hunting season
and for no reason
a cookie auction, Son!
****
There was shopping
and some cake topping
and a birthday or two
and then a funeral too
Don't forget the mourning we have to do!
****
We miss our loved ones these days
especially around the holidays
those parents, sisters and others
and friends and especially brothers!
****
I am supposed to bake and make it homemade
I haven't baked in a long while or made
cookies, cakes or pies, just fudge and marmalade
****
Aging causes some of the tears
So many memories of all the years
****
And yes, the older we get, the faster they are yet!
