It loved too deep, it beat too fast,

A flame that danced against the tide.

But passion's fire was never meant to last,

And so it burned, and so it died.

It begged the sky, it cursed the rain,

Yet neither soothed nor heard its cry.

The echoes only spoke of pain,

A song of ghosts too lost to die.

The embers wept as dusk grew cold,

The Heart That Burned Itself Alive

For love was just a tale the ashes told.

The love that couldn't survive.

it whispered dreams in crimson light,

A spark within the frozen air.

Yet love was war, yet love was blight,

And no one came, no soul would care.

there it lay, a pile of dust,

A memory left scorched into the past.

For love was never built on trust,

And fire was never meant to last.
