The Green Man
He watched the woods
Leaves in his beard
Eyes deep with age
Calm in his breath
Branches curled round him
Life in each twist
Roots at his feet
Earth in his blood
Wind touched his face
Stirring old thoughts
Secrets of seasons
Held in his gaze
He guarded the wild
Every path known
Every seed remembered
Every storm endured
Moss crowned his brow
Light warmed his cheek
Shadows leaned closer
Listening to him
He moved like time
Slow but sure
Trees bowed gently
Honouring his name
He called the green
Drawing growth near
Fields woke at dawn
Answered his pull
He stood eternal
Keeper of life
Guardian of change
Heart of the land
