The Golden Boomerang

What comes back?

By A. S. LawrencePublished 5 months ago 1 min read
Scrolled "rhymes" with above, get it?

A boomerang of lust and gold,

I threw with good intent to love,

Returns to me as I grow old.

My flaws that you will fondly scold

Become the fateful targets of

A boomerang of lust and gold.

Along with all the grace I pulled,

The beam of vanity I shoved,

Returns to me as I grow old.

The joy that I design to hold,

I catch again within my glove,

A boomerang of lust and gold.

I filtered doom as long I scrolled.

The truth I learned from the above

Returns to me as I grow old.

The cloudy stories that we told

Descend on us just like a dove.

A boomerang of lust and gold

Returns to me as I grow old.
