The Flood

April 2nd, 2018

Love has a way

Of finding and forcing a path

Into our thoughts, sometimes our day,

It isn't always what we expect

Hardly what we want on those days

Where the stress of nine to five

Crushes spirits that once soared,

And reminded us of why we allowed

The forcing and finding,

The coaxing and sometimes corroding

Force of love-

Until we forget that those spirits

Once existed and we lose

The vision of the world where love

Spoke louder than little green bills

In too soft hands

On the other side of a product,

Meant to fill a void

That love forced its way into

And flooded entirely.
