Denial

It's like maybe somewhere in there you're a good guy

but he's just too hard to find

In the middle of a maze filled with poisonous lies,

surrounded quickly on all sides

And maybe if I was not me, I could be the brave soldier

I think it might just be worth it to hoist you over my shoulder

Dodging flaming arrows, keeping composure

But I think instead I'm just the type to cry

and scream, "This isn't over"

Anger

I don't speak ill of the dead

but I'll speak ill of you

because you're only dead to me

It's a violent ghostly scene

The way someone can hold your hair back

when you throw up and then they leave

They build a castle, place the last brick,

then go and explore someone else's lips in the backseat

You disgust me

Do not discuss me

with the next

saying I'm crazy

and she's the best

'cause we all know where

she will rest

At the bottom of the riverbed,

right beside me

You'll see me again, though

Best believe

Bargaining

Don't say breakup

If you do, I won't breathe

It won't be on purpose

Completely involuntary

I can be perfect

I can cook and I can clean

I can stay very quiet and hold back my screams

Completely silently

What more do you want?

That's an actual question

No rhetoric or sarcasm

Completely seriously

End it this Thursday

End it next week

Don't tell me it's over

completely,

completely,

completely

Depression

I wish I wished you were dead

but I can never get the words out

I'm in over my head

and I'm starting to doubt

how I feel about

how we ended

Was I the only one not pretending?

I wish I wished you were dead

but instead I still love you

Oh, how I do

Acceptance

Sorry I was crying

in your bathroom

The questions and the begging,

all of that, too

If I'd thought about it

I would not have asked you

I'm really tired so

I'll just walk past you

Maybe we can put this in the past, too

I think we have to

I know we have to
