The Five Senses
"The Wonders of Perception: Exploring the Five Senses"
In the world around us, so much to explore,
Five senses to use, and so much to adore,
Sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch,
Each one a gift that we enjoy so much.
With our eyes we see the beauty of nature,
The colors of flowers, the shape of a creature,
The wonder of the world, in all its glory,
A visual symphony, a never-ending story.
With our ears we hear the melody of sound,
The rhythm of music, the voice of the crowd,
The songs of birds, the rustling of trees,
A chorus of noise, carried on the breeze.
With our nose we smell the fragrance of life,
The scent of flowers, the aroma of strife,
The smell of rain, the perfume of love,
A sensory journey, to heaven above.
With our tongues we taste the flavors of food,
The sweetness of sugar, the spiciness of mood,
The tang of citrus, the richness of cream,
A feast for the senses, a culinary dream.
With our skin we feel the touch of the world,
The warmth of the sun, the cold of the furled,
The softness of silk, the roughness of stone,
A tactile adventure, to call our own.
In all of these senses, we find delight,
A world of sensations, a constant invite,
To experience life, in all its fullness,
A sensory tapestry, of infinite richness.
