The fire in her bones

From the ash, she rises again

I came to you wild,

A woman born of the fire,

Holding the sacred truths of Lilith

And the witches they burned before me,

Tucked safely away.

You saw the fire in me,

This precious secret

Shared only with you,

And you chose to tamp it out.

For too long, you kept me locked away,

Subsisting on your crumbs,

Begging for the scraps of your affection,

Hanging on tattered shreds of hope

That you may see me, feed me, love me,

And the fire faded

Into conformity.

But a fire only needs one spark

To reignite a blaze

And as I rise again,

Gathering the last remains of ash,

Just remember, Sweetheart:

A fire can be your warmth

Or destroy your whole word.
