Swans and honey-bees
Blooming Cosmos and Hyacinths
Hymns of love and life

It swallows the sun
So that a pale fingernail
Treasures all its blue

Strings of blowing winds
Running through sun-kissed fingers
The secret of flight

A shooting star's kiss
A summer forest red death
Somewhere a heart sparks

The Belly of a Whale
There is a secret I've been scared to tell you: Sometimes in winter, I dream I'm a ghost dissolving into frames, wilting in timelines from long ago. I weep at graveyards and weave like stagnant rain, irascible and tarnished. You're a ghost, too, all of your edges blurred and etched, but the candle of your heart is far too bright for my eyes. It looks like the moon, and I envy it. So I cry oceans and swallow the stars, hoping to be as vivid as you. Instead, I drown in my own solstice, and everything is spun in the ripples of your song.

The Business of Nature
Dew drops reflected the light of the sun. The inhabitants of Whispering Woods woke up to the golden droplets of water on the leaves of the flora. The oaks particularly enjoyed the light and the maples did, too. Happiness enveloped all who lived there, even the rocks that cried out in the night delighted in the morning.
