The Eyes Hide All My Secrets
You will never see inside

The Eyes Hide All My Secrets
The eyes are the windows to the soul
I know you’ll never see in mine.
Shutters nailed with silence,
Curtains drawn in brine.
I watched you searching shadows,
Thinking light might seep through pain,
But all you’ll find are echoes,
And a ghost that won’t explain.
The glass is cracked with warnings,
Fractured truths in every pane,
You knock, but there’s no answer,
Just the rattle of a chain.
I buried all my windows
Beneath layers made of steel,
Not to keep the monsters out,
just to trap the ones I feel.
There are prison bars behind them,
Cold and black and set in stone,
You’ll press your face against them
And find you’re not alone.
For every eye that watched me
Left a fingerprint of shame,
So now I watch you in silence
But you won’t learn my name.
