Lurking in the darkness,

Behind each shadow,

Is the premonition of fear,

Forever with you.

You may run and hide,

But there is never escape

From gruesomeness creeping behind.

The narrow escape,

Which it may give,

May never be more than death.

One may never know for sure

If death may keep it at bay.

But death pays no heed to trial,

So one may give the ultimate price.

A rumor for all it may be,

But one can never know,

Except one heeds.

It is best for one to keep their head,

And be battle ready each day,

For the treacherous fight still ahead.
