I thought it would be louder

At the end of the world,

All a fuss and big to-do.

Fires, pain, all in chaos,

At the end of the world.

Not a calm rush, seeing you.

I thought I would be bolder,

At the end of the world,

Brave, doing all I could do.

But I just sit here silent,

At the end of the world,

My gaze firmly fixed on you.

I didn’t think I’d be here,

At the end of the world.

A coffee shop, streetside view.

Blue eyes, tall frame, and brown hair,

And the end of my world.

Sitting there without a clue.

I thought there’d be an ending,

At the end of the world.

I’ve come to find that’s not true.

It’s worse; that there’s an after

To the end of the world:

To see, and yet not have you.

They say that it’s like falling,

Not the end of the world,

Exciting, fun, special, new.

But they are all just liars.

It’s the end of the world.

Falling into love with you.
