The Emotional Disaster

The sky cracks open inside me.

Tears spill like rivers in the night.

I try to hold them back,

but they fall with weight, hitting the floor.

The heart pounds in its cage.

Every beat is a warning.

Echoes of old arguments

haunt the quiet rooms of my mind.

I stand on the edge of memory.

Watching joy dissolve into smoke.

My hands tremble. My mind roars.

The words I thought safe are a weapon.

The storm does not pass.

It only moves, spinning through me.

A carousel of fear turns again.

How long will this last?

Even the wind seems cruel.

I reach for fragments of light,

for hands that hold without breaking.

Is it possible to feel safe again?

Memories twist in my mind.

Faces I loved float past.

Smiles turned into echoes.

Touches that burned into me.

I feel the walls of my chest shiver.

The debris of years presses down.

I stumble over shadows.

I stumble over silence.

Yet somewhere inside, a spark waits.

Quiet and stubborn.

It whispers that I can survive.

That even disaster carries seeds of change.

I gather them, small and trembling.

I plant them in my chest.

I water them with breath and patience.

I let them grow slowly.

And though the sky still cracks above me,

though the tears still fall,

I walk through the ruins.

I stumble, I rise, I keep walking.
