The Distance Between Us

In Love's Quiet Trance

Your eyes, a sky I'd never seen,

Shining in colors hard to believe.

When you smiled, the world stood still,

And my heart loved you against its will.

Each day I rushed to where you'd be,

Excited to see you, feel you're with me.

But cruel fate tore us apart,

Took you to lands far from my heart.

Now I remain with a wounded soul,

Loving the shadow of what made me whole.

You left so far, without a glance,

Leaving me here, in love's quiet trance.
