If You Could Only See It

If you could see your eyes

then you would see no lies

just truth and open discussion

and the way you stare

makes me feel bare

and is better than any introduction

and the way your eyes spark

with that brown little speck

when you’re angry or challenged

makes my heart stir

but when the green tint

starts to soften

the world fades out in a blur

and when you look at me

open as can be

I take that as no small feat

because I know that you’re discreet

and not everyone gets to see the complete

you that is shown to me
