Still Where You Left It

I just finished clearing off your old desk

You left in my possession

After you said goodbye

I thought it was only temporary

But it turned out to be forever

The Desk has been left cluttered and covered

Debris dispersed with dust and letters

The one letter you wrote me

Tucked away and hidden within

As a reminder of the love

We shared together

Written with your hands

The letters unique to the shape of you

You have no idea I’ve kept it

Or of its meaning to my heart

Much like my tears and sadness

That has nearly torn me apart

Through the grief of your departure

The Desk still remains

As a constant reminder

Of the memories left stained
