The Demon's Mission

The darkness inside

I sit here in the dark slowly losing my sanity

What’s happening to me is considered myth by most of humanity

I know it’s quite real, it’s just hard to define

My soul is now tarnished, when once it used to shine

Soft whispers in the dark filling my head lies

I see nothing of worth when I look at myself through my own eyes

It doesn’t matter what others say, it all feels fake

I just want this to end, from this nightmare I want to wake

Each day more of my light is stolen

I once felt warmth, now I feel frozen

The demon’s mission is nearly completed

As I sit here alone feeling completely defeated

sad poetry
