Anxiety and depression,

these two collide in my mind

Fueling the fire inside

leaving me far behind

As racing thoughts take over a damaged heart

Everyday is a struggle to restart

Anxiety, the worrying, fear and insomnia

keeps me up late at night,

The darkness within, a constant fight

Scared of the unknown,

I search for that end of the tunnel light

That I never seem to find

Depression, squeezing the life out of my chest

It makes me feel like I am never at my best

With the mood swings, the anger, the frustration

It never ends

Together, they are quite a pair

feeling like I'm stuck, going nowhere

But remember we are never alone

There's always a friend there to help you cope
