The Dance of the Swans

A Lovers’ Waltz

The Dance of the Swans

They met where silence kissed the lake

no music played, yet all hearts heard

two shadows swept the mirrored world

and never spoke a single word

He turned to her, she turned to him

no rush, no rule, no lead to chase

their necks curved soft, a secret hymn

two bodies tuned to hush and grace

The sky wore fire in blinding bloom

the moon slipped shy behind its ring

and there they circled, feathered vows

in time with some unspoken string

A pause, a bow, a glide, a bend

the water caught each perfect beat

the kind of love that doesn’t end

where stillness sings, and time retreats

Not chained, not claimed, not ever owned

they moved because they both belonged

a language made of light and bone

a dance, too quiet to be wrong

They touched, stars mystically shined

the sun itself seemed not to care

for nothing burns as true, as fine

as two hearts choosing just to share

No final spin, no curtain close

just wings that never wished to part

they knew the steps, they knew the pose

the lake, the dark, their one bright heart
