The Creative Spark

A blank sheet of paper, some ink, and a pen

And I am connected to god once again

A computer, a notebook, a tablet or phone

causes my soul, its sweet song to intone

Of my true power, I am fully aware

In silence, a mantra, meditation, or prayer

A melody, a podcast, a poem, or song

Instills in me the feeling that nothing is wrong

A walk, a workout, a Pickleball Match

Gives me the key to unfasten the latch

An easel, a canvas, some paint, and a brush

Allow me to picture a landscape so lush

A look, a touch, a session of fur-baby love

And divinely gifted am I a verse from above

A movie, a TV show, a musical, too

Is all that is needed to write a song — or two!

Inspiration can be found wherever you look

And if all of this fails — then go read a book!
