Why is my joy the currency for yours?

My smile, a receipt you never read.

I bend,

you breathe easier.

I break,

you call it balance.

But love should not

demand my silence,

nor make a home

from my undoing.

So today,

I gather the pieces

you left behind—

and spend them on me.
