A book in my hammock
as warm sunshine brightens
That first sip of tea
as my sleepy brain wakens
Curled up on the couch with the man of my dreams
These are the things that bring comfort to me
A meal in a restaurant
where the food is divine
The company of friends
sharing a bottle of wine
Using alone time to recharge myself
These are the things that bring comfort to me
When the bills come
When my heart hurts
When it all closes in
I simply return to these things in my life
and then I don't feel too bad.
