The ComeDy of Women

what happens when the cure is more shit

By Michele NampalliPublished 9 months ago • 1 min read

I tug at the metal handle protruding from my intestines

invisible, homeopathic bag filled with shit- like cures like

I’m a gummy, runny bowel, numb.

They say “all hail the motherboard”

I said bullshit

until it flipped outward onto my ochre skin

tanned from healthy living

pustulating comedones

humming hives-

an expression of volcanic bees

We take the antihistamine

suppressing m o r e

while pointing lead flowers at one another

shouting for the collective

They call it an autoimmune disorder-

our silly bodies fighting ourselves

WomenHighRisk

another pillow cover for violence

A he made it on social media:

how to

emotion

women

discourse of Mars and Venus

in retrograde.

A thousand paper cuts to fester

a badge we wear self-L E S S-

virgins

in the same comedy

no one asked.

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
