Black obscured my vision of the world for longer than I cared

A cloud followed close behind as it had been tied to my shoes

Shading the world, casting shadows upon those around me

A looming storm of emotions threatened to descend at any moment

I saw her eyes and they broke the storm of my world unimpaired

Like an expansive ocean, I was swallowed by the deepest blues

Enveloping my soul in the warmth of her unmatchable beauty

She showed me there truly was an end to my eternal torment

The brightest white I have ever known is now the world shared

All my doubts, tears, and fears dissipate in the arms of my muse

A life of new purpose emerges, restoring her damaged spirit my duty

Knowing together we will find the path we deserve and won’t relent

Her eyes turned a shade of gray once our world became paired

Together we walk this world hand in hand having paid our dues

Protecting her from harm and pain is something I will never take lightly

Until we part from this world, by her side I will stand, forever content
